Peer Translate is designed as a peer-to-peer translation tool. To provide this service, we collect the following:

• Audio Data: We use the Microphone permission to capture your voice for the purpose of translation.
• User Profile Data: We collect the custom username you manually enter into the app to identify you during translation sessions.

2. Data Use, Sharing, and Third-Party AI Services

We are completely transparent about where your data goes. Peer Translate does not use any cloud-based third-party AI services.

• How We Use Your Data: Your audio and username are used strictly to facilitate live, real-time translations during an active session.
• Who We Share It With (Peer-to-Peer): Your audio data and username are transmitted directly over your network connection to the connected "Host" device (a secondary local device running the AI model).
• User Permission: By connecting to a Host device and pressing the microphone button, you grant explicit permission to transmit your audio and username to that specific local Host device.
• NO Third-Party Cloud AI: We do not send your voice recordings, username, or any other personal data to third-party corporate cloud AI servers (such as OpenAI, Google Cloud, etc.). All AI processing happens entirely offline on the connected Host device.

3. Permissions Used

• Microphone: Required to capture audio for translation.
• Local Network: Required to discover and establish a connection with the Host device on your local network.

4. Data Storage

The app does not maintain a permanent database of your translations on our servers. Any translation history is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by you at any time within the app settings.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Google Play Services and Apple services for app distribution, and Firebase for basic, anonymous analytics (if enabled) to improve app stability. These services may collect information as described in Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Changes to This Policy
